Winter fun in the upper Isarco Valley
Three winter sports areas in the immediate vicinity
In the immediate vicinity of Vipiteno in the Isarco Valley the winter sports enthusiasts will be in their element. Here they will find the skiing areas of Rosskopf, Ratsching-Jaufen and Ladurns, each with their own special amenities. They are all family-friendly, have hours of sunshine and snow is guarante.
Skiing with plenty variety
Our Vipiteno skiing areas are easily accessible and are characterised by their compactness. 53 kilometres of well-prepared pistes guarantee hours of skiing fun. And if you fancy even more, it isn’t far to the neighbouring skiing pistes of Gitschberg-Jochtal and Plose. You can learn the basic skiing skills or improve your skiing technique at the ski-schools of Vipiteno and Colle Isarco.
Tobogganing fun – a superb experience
Rosskopf has the longest, illuminated, snow-covered toboggan run in the whole of Italy. It is 10 km long – definetly a unique experience not to be missed. In addition, there are also other enjoyable toboggan runs to be found in the Isarco Valley.
Cross-country skiing in the high- lying valleys
In Vipiteno and the adjoining valleys, such as the high-lying valley of Pfitsch, you will find approximately 100 km of well-prepared trails. Snow-covered meadows, winter forests and a solitary valley bottom make cross-country skiing a superb experience.
Romantic winter walking
A programme of circular winter walks, panoramic tours and treks across snow-covered pastures are all available to the winter walker. The routes on the FlanerJöchl or the Prantneralm are highlights for everyone who wants to tackle winter sports at a more leisurely pace.
In the upper Isarco Valley there are many natural ice-skating areas to be found. Here you can enjoy many pleasant hours elegantly skating around with the family. In Vipiteno, a good time can also be had at the Weihenstephan Arena where the Vipiteno WSV Broncos Ice Hockey Club also train and play.
